Mandarin Oriental, Vienna is the group's first hotel in Austria. The operator announced its opening in a release of 1 December 2025 and introduced a "Be the First to Stay" package with daily breakfast, hotel credit, a welcome cocktail and a cultural gift. A release of 6 October 2026 places the opening in 2026, where the December 2025 release already says the hotel is open.

The hotel occupies a heritage-listed former courthouse at Riemergasse 7, within the Ringstrasse in the First District. Austrian architect Alfred Keller completed the Art Nouveau building in 1908, and the studio Goddard Littlefair did the interiors. It has 138 rooms and suites: 86 rooms and 52 suites across four floors, including three Mandarin Signature Suites and a Royal Suite.

Executive Chef Thomas Seifried runs four dining venues: Le Sept, a fine dining restaurant, Atelier 7 Brasserie, Atelier 7 The Café and Atelier 7 Izakaya & Bar. The spa covers 700 square metres, with seven treatment rooms, an indoor pool and a fitness centre. A 140-square-metre ballroom and seven boardrooms handle events.

Vienna International Airport is 20 to 25 minutes away by taxi or private transfer, and the Vienna State Opera is a 12-minute walk. Falstaff recognised the hotel as Austria's Best Opening, and the 2026 MICHELIN Guide awarded it Two MICHELIN Keys.

“Mandarin Oriental is delighted to announce its debut in Austria with the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, an exquisite restoration in the heart of the city's prestigious First District.”
