Six Senses AMAALA opened in July 2026, according to IHG's release of 15 July. It is the brand's second resort in Saudi Arabia, after Six Senses Southern Dunes on The Red Sea, which opened in 2023.

The resort sits between gentle beaches and a mangrove-fringed lagoon, with a clifftop mesa rising at its centre. It has 100 suites and villas and 25 branded residences, built into the terrain and inspired by traditional Saudi coastal architecture. The design is meant to achieve LEED Platinum certification.

Soraya, a restaurant that fuses Japanese and Latin American cooking, sits on top of the mesa. Joud serves Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food all day, and Beach Shack is a few steps from the water. The spa has a Longevity Center with cryotherapy and PEMF therapy, a Biohacking Recovery Lounge, a Watsu pool and a sound dome. Families get a Junior Mangrove Ecologist program and a kids' concept called Grow With Six Senses.

Al Wajh International Airport is a 45-minute drive away, or 20 minutes by seaplane. Red Sea International Airport is two hours by road. Bryce Seator is general manager.

“Six Senses AMAALA opens in July 2026, bringing the Six Senses way of life to a second remarkable setting in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea.”
