Alila Dong'ao Island Zhuhai opened in April 2025, when Hyatt announced it on April 15. It is the first Alila island resort in Greater China. The resort stands on a cliff at the southwestern tip of Dong'ao Island, less than an hour by ferry from Zhuhai city.

It is an all-suite resort: Hyatt lists 104 suites, starting at 925 square feet. They have floor-to-ceiling windows, a separate living room and a double-vanity bathroom, and most have a balcony and a tearoom, while others have a garden and a private pool. Two rooftop suites have 270-degree ocean views. The interior designer is Ju Bin, who drew on Lingnan culture and craftsmanship.

SEASALT serves seafood all day, and HOITONG serves traditional Cantonese cuisine with produce from the resort's own organic garden. CHUN bar, outdoors, serves afternoon tea and cocktails. Spa Alila has four treatment rooms, a hammam, a Himalayan salt room and a vitality pool, and an infinity pool extends nearly 50 feet over the cliff's edge.
