Six Senses Comporta is planned for the Pinheirinho estate, a few miles south of Comporta on the Atlantic coast of Portugal. IHG's release of 17 March 2025 says it is slated to open in 2028, with a 70-key hotel and 58 branded residences. Six Senses signed the hotel management agreement with VIC Properties.
The hotel's 66 guest rooms and larger suites will sit in the wings of a central building, with options to interconnect for larger groups, and three garden villas and a presidential villa bring the total to 70. The residences range from two to five-bedroom villas and apartments.
The 400-hectare estate was privately owned and accessible by invitation only for decades, and much of it remains a protected nature reserve of pinewood forest. The release describes a golden beach on the Atlantic and an 18-hole golf course. The main restaurant will cook with seasonal produce from the on-site vegetable garden, and there will be a pool bar and grill and a wine bar focused on the region's winemakers.
Six Senses Spa Comporta will have green roofs, a gym and yoga studio, and a wet and thermal building with an indoor/outdoor pool, steam, sauna and hydrotherapy facilities.
