Opened in 2026
Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena opened in 2026 in the Getsemaní neighbourhood, steps from the Walled City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It occupies historic buildings dating as far back as the 16th century, including the Cloister of Saint Francis, the 1920s Beaux Arts Club Cartagena and four theatres.
The 131 guest rooms and suites include 27 Spanish colonial-style accommodations and 104 contemporary-style rooms. The two-bedroom Presidential Suite is the Catroux Suite, named for the late François Catroux, who designed the interiors. José María Rodríguez is the principal architect, and 15 Private Residences are part of the property.
Eight restaurants and bars include The Grand Grill, a steakhouse in the former Club Cartagena from Major Food Group, Pizzeria Della Chiesa for Neapolitan-style pizza, and El Aljibe, a speakeasy in a former water cistern. Umari Spa has six treatment rooms, and two rooftop pools look over the city and harbour. The concierge team arranges a graffiti tour, a yacht cruise to nearby islands and a hike in a private nature reserve.
